Suicide is the biggest killer of all males aged 18 - 44 in Australia and of females aged 18 to 34.
It is a silent stalker and devastates those left behind to mourn a life cut tragically short.
Drive for Life was established in 2012 by the Young brothers as a way of rasing funds to support suicide prevention workshops undertaken in the local community. Ian Young is currently chaplain to the V8 supercars, Allan is in the media. Both are passionate about preventing suicide, having lost several friends and loved ones who were desperate enough to take their own life.
Drive for Life Suicide Prevention Association is an incorporated body, meaning all funds raised are transparently managed.
The association has a new committee for 2017-18 led by Col Hardinge, a long standing motorsport competitor and official.
We are a volunteer non profit organisation with no staff or office overheads. Officials are made up from motorsport clubs and local community members.
Every entry in Drive For Life directly funds suicide prevention workshops throughout Victoria.
Last year, over 4,000 people in the community received suicide prevention eductation in their clubs, schools and community groups, directly funded by DFLSPA and delivered by Rapid Response Ministries.
Your participation in Drive for Life will make a REAL difference in changing the future of a young person in Victoria. The life you change could be closer to you than you know.
The HRA (Historic Rally Association) is proud to be our host car club.
